One Helluva Zine

A Helluva Boss Fanzine Charity Project

I had the opportunity to work with a team of three other people to lead and organize a fanzine for the indie animated show Helluva Boss. I was given the responsibility of being the Graphics and Layout Mod and throughout the duration of the project, from planning all the way to distribution, I was responsible for branding/identity of the project itself, all social media graphics (over 100 individually crafted posts), and laying out the zine’s content itself, which contained images, art and writing. As a team lead, I collaborated with all 46 contributors involved with the project, artists who come from all over the world. We held meetings, communicated through Discord very frequently, and delegated tasks when necessary.

I am happy to report that by the end of the project, we accumulated over $10,000 dollars raised for the charity GLSEN, a resource for LGBTQ youth to make school a safer place. “Authentic Voices of Pride” offered to match our donation, making the total money raised by this project $20,391.06! Pride doesn’t begin to express how we felt when we were able to make these donations! This was such an amazing opportunity to work as a fandom community to both express love for a show we enjoy, and to lead a team of incredibly talented people to something unique and unforgettable.
