Combining rustic charm with a dash of whimsy…
Born and raised in Southeast Georgia, I’ve been taught two essential principles: Southern hospitality and homemade biscuits. When my mom first taught me how to make biscuits, she told me about the ‘cathead biscuit’ - made with the scraps of the dough that wouldn’t fit in a biscuit cutter and made the most unique shape. She said whoever got the cathead biscuit would have good luck for the day!
I graduated Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. I’ve had the privilege to work in several different kinds of industries - from typography and layout at a local award shop, 3-D modeling in fashion design software, to learning the ins and outs of the sign industry. I’ve taken bits and scraps of experience from each opportunity, helping me grow in a unique way - just like a cathead biscuit.
Cathead Creative is built on the belief in the power of creativity and whimsy. Both have guided me through my entire life - especially during the challenging parts. Without the inherently human element of creating with one’s hands and heart, it’s easy to lose balance in this whirlwind world of ours.
It is my goal and mission as a creative to incorporate whimsy into all of the work I do. Much like cooking, creating something with care and love deepens the meaning and appreciation for the work. I have a deep and personal connection to books and dream of working in the publishing/book industry. However, I’m also very passionate about identity and branding projects as well as video editing!
I reside in Greenville, SC with my husband and three beautiful biscuit makers - aka our cats!
Meet the Bakers
Much of my inspiration comes from the three freeloaders I call my children. From left to right, their names are Violet, Power, and Husker. (Their enthusiasm for biscuit production varies on the day.)
Violet is a shy, gentle soul who acts like every meal is her last! She has the grace of a princess and the opportunistic soul of a raccoon and loves to make bubbles in her water bowl.
Power is our resident mischief maker! She’s incredibly curious and chatty and is usually found within five feet of me - she’s definitely Velcroed to me at almost all times!
Husker is our fluffy, laid-back yet spoiled boy. He loves wrestling on the floor with his siblings and with me - which explains all the scratches I always have on my hands. After he’s done though, he’ll cuddle up and be really sweet!
